Well, Maddie woke up this morning to a winter wonderland and boy was she excited. I had told her on Saturday that it might snow and she was ready. "What am I going to wear? I can wear my snow boots and my pink snow pants!"
Backing up to Saturday, we woke up to the sound of the tornado alarms sounding. I turned on the television and thought no big deal. Todd and Maddie were playing and I was still trying to get a little bit of sleep when I heard those alarms go off again. I turned the local weather on and heard there was a tornado headed right our way. We had about 15 minutes before it was supposed to hit. My feet hit the floor and I went to hollarin'. "Todd, get Maddie dressed and get to the safe place, there's a tornado coming. We've got 15 minutes, hurry up!" So after our running around and mass confusion, we have decided we should just pack a bag and keep it in the closet in case this happens again. Maddie was bored, she wanted toys to play with while we waited. She did call and talk to her friend, Caldwell, on the cell phone to pass the time. Thank goodness we were safe. There were two or three tornadoes that did touch down in the area.
So that leads us to today and it has been snowing since about 6 this morning. I can't remember the last time it snowed for 4 hours straight. We all went out and played in it and had so much fun. I think Maddie would stay out there until she couldn't move. She did say, "This was her first three-year-old snow." I think she still remembers her first two-year-old snow. She loves it even more this year. Kurlie loved it too. We had to make him come inside. Moggie and Bough could care less, they just stayed on the couch where it was warm.
So it has been one of the most bazar weekends in the weather department for us. Tornadoes to snow storm, and tomorrow should be around 50 degrees. Go figure!
